Dear Clients and Friends,

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.*

The tragic and senseless death of George Floyd has served as a flashpoint across the nation and brought to the forefront the racism, violence and fear members of our Black community experience. With so many speaking out against injustice and advocating for change, what we choose to say and do now will influence how we move forward.

As a member of the business community, DunlapSLK believes in the value of every person and strongly condemns acts of racial injustice. We recognize the tremendous costs of discrimination and believe that significant action should be taken by the business community to advocate and work for diversity, equity, and inclusion in our society and in our economy. We recognize how vitally important it is not to judge but to demonstrate empathy and seek to understand each other. DunlapSLK’s pledge is to be a place of diversity and inclusiveness and we stand ready to be a part of the ongoing conversation to pursue meaningful change in support of those who have been disenfranchised. Together, we can all be a part of the needed change.

Together, we also continue to emerge from the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and the significant impact it’s had on our lives. Over the past few months we have been keeping current with the ever-changing legislation and trust you have been receiving our email blasts highlighting assistance available on the federal, state, and local levels. If you’ve missed our emails, these updates can also be found on our website in the COVID-19 Resource Center. As Pennsylvania continues taking steps toward getting back to business, we continue our efforts to help our business clients emerge strong and ready for the future. The Summer 2020 Tax & Business Letter highlights pertinent information to assist in those efforts.

Despite the significant challenges we are facing on many fronts, we know we can emerge stronger as individuals, as a community, and as a nation. We leave you with these words that have been attributed to C.S. Lewis: “You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”

We are privileged to work alongside you to change the ending…together.

Sincerely,

DunlapSLK PC
