Every day is bringing new challenges as we navigate these uncharted waters with COVID-19. Here at DunlapSLK we continue to monitor the situation as it evolves and have followed the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in an effort to do our part in keeping our employees and clients safe and healthy. As the pandemic continues, we have closed our Horizon Drive office until further notice effective immediately.

However, we’ve opened 50 new offices! Earlier this week we began implementing the plan to have our team work remotely and finished moving the last team members yesterday. As we communicated to you previously, we have invested significantly in technology which allows us to continue to serve our clients with minimal interruption. All of our team members have been adequately trained to use this technology and we have processes in place to be sure our clients continue to be served. We appreciate your patience and support as we learn to work together in our new environment.

From a service preparedness standpoint, we have invested significantly into technology that allows our employees to work from nearly any location at any time. We have communicated to them that while our office will remain open, they may choose to work at home. Some may need to do so in order to care for children that are home from school; others may choose to do so for their own health and peace of mind.

How does this affect you?

Importantly, please note that the federal tax filing deadline has been extended to July 15, 2020. We will continue to communicate any tax updates to you as changes occur.

For those who still need to transmit tax information to us, please consider uploading the information here on our website. Simply choose “File Upload Option” then “Other File Upload.” If you don’t have a scanner, you may use a free app called Genius Scan which scans documents from your phone. Please note that uploads work best in .PDF format. You may also use the US Postal Service or the mail box outside of our front door but please note, those methods may involve a slightly longer processing time.

As for delivery of your completed tax returns, we encourage you to select electronic delivery. Many of you have used this in the past and it has worked well. If you prefer to have a paper copy, that option is currently available but may change as we navigate this ever-changing environment. Please communicate the desired delivery method to your DunlapSLK team member.

There has been mention of government relief programs that may become available soon, we will keep you apprised of those in the weeks ahead. We are here to help guide you through this challenging time and appreciate the continued trust you have placed in us.
